Thursday, April 7

Morning Meeting: Greeting - talk to 3 people and ask questions to find out something you have never known about those people, Song - "Let's Have a Great Day", Brainstorm rewards sold at our "store" and creat prices for them
Math: Read "Puzzlers" and find the numbers, Introduce Ch. 8 Geometry, start Shape Collages
Reading: Math Story, "Bugs"-highlight in matching colors the rhyming words, find chunks

The new incentive program we have created in our classroom allows students to earn school money by following the rules, doing their best, helping others, setting a good example, etc. and then spend that money in our "store". Some of the things that students can buy is a Fuzzy Friend for the day, Rolling Chair, Hat Day (will have to bring a hat from home), Toy Recess (will have to bring a toy from home, and it will have to be approved by me), White Line Recess (play on the playground across the primary boundary), Lucky Lunch (lunch with the teacher), and a Long Recess. The students came up with the ideas and how much each would cost. Not only will this help foster positive behavior in our classroom, it will also give the students a better understanding of money!

Let's see how much snow we have in the morning!
