Friday, April 8

As the students and I were reading their favorite poems and their new story for the week, it hit me that they are truly becoming readers. Those kids that started the year off knowing only a few letter names are now starting to sound out words, students that came in to kindergarten knowing their letter names, sounds, and reading strategies are really starting to bloom as they develop different tools to figure out unknown words, and the students that came into kindergarten reading are reading with fluency and expression! I hope you take the time this weekend to celebrate with your children how truly marvelous they are.

Morning Meeting: Song - "Start This Day With a Song", "Workout to the Letter Sounds", sort all of our coins into the four different coins and organize for our new reward system
Make Piggy Banks to store our school coins
Story: "Shapes" (get ideas for our beautiful shape collages!)
Centers
Music with Mr. Small
Math: Shape Collages

Have a fantastic weekend!
